Burlington can be reached via two different, wonderfully scenic Amtrak routes. From southern New England, “The Vermonter” travels the North East Corridor from Washington, DC to New Haven, CT and then north via Springfield and Palmer, MA to Essex Junction, VT. There, TCA volunteers will meet your train, and drive you the ten minutes to the Sheraton.
The second route is Amtrak’s “Adirondack,” with service from New York’s Pennsylvania Station via Albany and then Canadian Pacific’s D&H line through Saratoga, NY and along the cliffs lining Lake Champlain’s rugged western shore. Detrain at Port Kent, NY and board the steam-era Lake Champlain Ferry for a direct ride to Burlington’s bustling waterfront.
